Safari Ride
Safari ride, our favorite of all! Bannerghatta offers a variety of options from Jeeps to AC busses to watch the mighty wild ones in their natural habitat and from the comfort of your seat.
The AC bus had no grills , safest of all and had a fantastic view, so we went with it. The bus excursion lasted for about 30 mins. The bus route passes through the Bannerghatta national park where the animals live in their natural habitat. Animals range from deer, elephants, tigers, lions, and many more. The ride indeed brings out the enthusiasm of the inner child even in grownups. Not to mention that the way the gates were put up for each sector reminded me of Jurassic Park but minus the grandeur.
Butterfly Park
The Butterfly Park is an enclosed conservatory with a landscaped garden where a wide range of butterfly species are bred. With so many vibrant butterflies flying around you, a walk through the conservatory is like something out of a fairy tale. You can also find a small water body with fish.
The Zoo
A modest Zoo of approximately 1.6 km, that is home to both Indian origin and exotic Animals, reptiles, and birds. You have two options for getting about the Zoo: on foot or with a paid battery-powered buggies. Animal varieties range from Zebras to Cheetahs! Reptiles like exotic turtles, Python snakes, and a variety of birds, including stunning Macaws and vibrant parrots! The zoo also encloses a boating area.
Restaurants and Stalls
Three restaurants - Hotel Annapurna, "Hill View Restaurant," and "Hotel Mayura Vanashree" as well as a large number of booths selling snacks, beverages, and entertaining children's toys can be found right outside the Zoo. There are many options for food and drink, or you may bring your own and have a wonderful picnic while visiting the zoo.
A day trip to Bannerghatta is a fantastic chance to let your inner child out and escape the monotony of city life.
